TIMBRE OF SATURN "A Ring Of Chain"

TIMBRE OF SATURN
"A Ring Of Chain"
Tolis, from Greece

Song starts off with a very melodic, atmospheric piano and guitar intro. Setting the mood for the tearing vocals to come. Very interseting usage of chorus singing. Building verse slides easily into a groovy midtempo run. Tolis from Timbre Of Saturn emailed us concerning a review. Death metal is not usually something we dive into. But this song surprised me with its depth and accessibility. Very strong muscianship here and...it is currently a one man band. Awesome stuff.

The song lyrics are talking about the endless births and deaths of cosmos and the aeon circles of universe life that begins with a Big Bang and ends in a vicious chaotic crumbling in its core, at the end of each loop.

Therefore, anticipation and expectations are equally high - and following up a hit debut like “Prophecy Of Ragnarök” for sure is not an easy task. Though, BROTHERS OF METAL prevail in this battle and their masterfully crafted new weapon “Emblas Saga” will pave them the way to a lot more future victories. The songs are even more creative, interesting and exciting than before. Symphonic pieces have enriched the band’s sound and the overall it’s still just as catchy and hymn-like. Best example is the stomping first single “Njord”, which comes in shape of a music video too. A little less heavy but offering earcandy at its
best is “One”, which will also be accompanied by a video and makes all three vocalists (Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson, Ylva Eriksson and Mats Nilsson) shine. The band once again takes the listener to the realm of Northern Mythology and Viking Sagas. On this trip mystical entities such as Hel, Freya, as well as Thor and his magical hammer, Mjölner cross the way. For the “Emblas Saga” cover artwork, the band was once again able to secure the services of Peter Sallai (Amon Amarth, Sabaton).

Fresh off triumphant festival gigs at Sweden Rock festival and Germany’s Rockharz & Rock Am Stück festivals, the buzz is stronger than ever - not only for new material but also live concerts. And again, the band is heeding the call, announcing their
first tour - a headlining tour right away - which will kick off almost exactly with release of “Emblas Saga” on January 9th in Hamburg, Germany. BROTHERS OF METAL will be joined by their labelmates, Italian folk power metallers Elvenking, on this leg.

Formed in late 2015, Cobra Cult from Stockholm, Sweden delivers their rock n ́rollish metalpunk sound like no one else. Sounding like the perfect blend of Motörhead, L7 and The Misfits, Cobra Cult have made themselves quite a reputation as a great live band with intense shows.

The first two single teaser, ‘Die! / Forever Faster’ was released in 2016. Cobra Cult followed up with their 4-track EP, ‘The Sunlight Tapes’ in 2017 as their first collaboration with legendary producer Tomas Skogsberg at Sunlight Studio.

As a result of that release, people started to take notice of the band and the EP opened the opportunity for the band to perform at the Bremer Metal Festival in Germany.

With the release of the debut album ‘Cobra Cult’ in late 2018, the band achieved the next step in their growing career with great album and live reviews and a coveted gig at Sweden Rock Festival 2019 and their first UK tour.

In 2019 the band signed to Sweden's Kingart Music Management

The Generations Army Interview Sweden Rock 2019

I have seen the future of thrash and it is The Generations Army. Full on metal heads, these guys were just as excited to see Slayer, as they were to play their own set. And tear up the stage they did. The recordings of this band lay the groundwork for a band that will carry the torch of metal far, far into the future.

Cobra Cult album Review

Cobra Cult
This hard driving band is the real deal. True to their fans and true to themselves. They create uncompromising metal music as it should be. But there is more to this band than mere metal musicians creating the same old same old, no,this band elevates itself above the fray by performing and creating tremendously catchy music.

This album is loaded with genuine power and passion. This is one disc you must put in your collection. They do not disappoint!
Having met and interviewed the band at this years Sweden Rock Festival, I was surprised by their integrity and honesty. Down to earth people. They are having a lot of fun and were genuinely excited to see their merch alongside larger bands like AMON AMARTH and others. But on stage this is a power house juggernaut of frighteningly great hooks and riffs. They can hold their own alongside any other band.

They rate themselves as a rock and roll metal punk band. True their songs encapsulate many of those styles but they bring it all together seamlessly. During our interview they proclaimed their love for playing live and indeed their performance on the Sweden Rock NEMIS stage was incredible. The energy and the passion was there.

We see great things happening for this band. They have that rock be honest aggressive stance towards their music. This should play out well on both the local and international stage.
Album: Cobra Cult

Personal fave song:

Burning Witches interview@Sweden rock Festival

BURNING WITCHES live@Sweden Rock Festival The Interview
Unleashing a juggernaut of power metal, BURNING WITCHES tested the waters of Sweden Rock with their brand new vocalist, Laura Guidemond(ex-SHADOWRISE). Her prowess and vocal style proved to be a tight fit with this iconic metal group. If she was nervous, it certainly did not show at all. She ruled that stage. we had a chance to speak with her and  drummer, Lala Frischknecht backstage after the gig.

How did it feel playing at Sweden Rock?
Really awesome. A little nerve wracking but also really exciting to play this festival. We did not expect the response. Very Positive. It was bigger than we thought. Some people obviously knew the songs already so I was super curious to see how they would view me as the new singer. It was an early morning show but it was really nice to get them going.

How do you prepare mentally for a festival like this?
Well for me it is the first time. So it was important to be comfortable with the set. learn the words so I fell I can do it because it was such a short time to be ready. If I feel prepared then I can do anything. Very important to have a good mood as well before playing. It helps.

Anything you do together before you go on stage as a ritual?
We Are joking laughing. It helps with tension.

What is next for Burning Witches?
Writing new songs. we actually have 4-5 ones written. We will record one song just to see the appetite for the band. We will be playing many festivals.

How important is social media?
You have to in the modern world. Social media helps. With it you can reach more people. Fans can hear what the new band is easier, unlike before. It's easier. It is a lot of work but it is fun too.

check this band out!!!

ELECTRIC BOYS interview@ Sweden Rock Festival 2019

Electric Boys are the true definition of consistent heavy rock and roll. Probably best known for their hit song "All lips and hips", the band and much of their peers from the time period faded for awhile from  mainstream attention. Weathering the grunge storm, the band continues  retaining their melodic hit machine style by continue to churn out masterful songs.ELECTRIC BOYS represent what is sorely missed in rock culture today, a thoroughly solid, fun, no nonsense approach rock band.
Veterans of a thousand stages and festivals, ELECTRIC BOYS do not let their fans down. Consistently delivering a rock and roll musical hammer that flattens any crowd. They Rock hard both onstage and off. The Sweden rock performance was a tour de force of pure musical power. They clearly love the music they create and the audience loves them.  We had a chance to talk briefly on the Marshall tour bus backstage.

How was the Sweden rock crowd?

We thought they would be tired as we are playing on the last day of the festival but they were great. The average swede can drink way more than say an American. They were great.

What is the craziest thing that you have ever seen onstage?

There have been so many things. But the first thing that comes to mind is when we did the Monsters of Rock tour. The first time we had gone back to America and of course we were really excited. Walking up a ramp trying to make it to soundcheck, when the ramp just dropped about 45 degrees. Boom! When something like that happens of course your whole life flashes in one second. I was ok but in shock you know. Somebody give me a drink, something.

What is next for the band?

It's kind of a weird year. New songs. Finishing up some dates. We would love to tour in America as well. But you know its harder to get a work visa.

They play "All Lips And Hips" on HAIR NATION on sirius radio all the time. How do you feel about that?
Yeah, we will have to check that out. Ha. Then they play SALTY DOG right after us. We are musicians. We have no idea how that works but any money we made from that song was spent a long time ago. Back in those days record labels would throw money at you. They could never recoup what they gave out.  So we don't see any of the money when they play that song. At the end of the day you really play for your self on that stage. The rest is a bonus and it does change from venue to venue, city to city. But, We don't count money. We do what we do because we like doing it.

Electric Boys are currently working on their 6th album.
Electric Boys are:
  • Conny Bloom (guitar and vocals)
  • Andy Christell (bass)
  • Franco Santunione (guitar)
  • Niclas Sigevall (drums)
  • Jolle Atlagic (drums
 SHOW DATES:
  • 30 August (with The Quireboys) – Byscenen, Trondheim (Norway)
  • 15 September – Raismes Fest, Raismes (France)
  • 20 September – Kajskjulet, Halmstad (Sweden)

Wicked Garden Album Review

WICKED GARDEN
post dystopian leisure music
Dominick muzio---lead vocals, guitars
Shawn Trojahn---lead guitars
Troy Spriggs---bass, vocals
Jason dardano---drums, percussion

A powerful collection of alternative painted tapestries with an overlay of 70'sish chord progressions. Overall this is a refreshing and well crafted disc. They seem to have an underlying humor about themselves which always helps in creating lasting musical efforts. Having spawned from a cover band it is not surprising that they know how a hit song can be welded together. The ability to jump from covers to originals should not be overlooked. It is a sonic duality that few musicians, never mind a whole band can endure. This WICKED GARDEN is overrun not with the weeds of yesterday but the flowering buds of tomorrow.

Sweden Rock Day 4

Sweden Rock 2019 has officially closed out and what a time was had by all involved. Not sure what the total official count will end up being but it had to be at least 35000 screaming and dedicated metal fans from all over the world.

Tearing the final stages apart were bands like,DUST BOWL JOKIES, JARED JAMES NICHOLS, ELECTRIC BOYS, STYX, HAMMERFALL,UFO, and more.
The day began with a heavy metal downpour that led some to doubt the continuity of the festival but the gods smiled and let the sweet Swedish sun shine through.

SAXON proved their ageless mettle and delivered the goods like an iron horse through the night. Finally the unstoppable RITCHIE BLACKMORE descended from the Rainbow and enlightened all who would listen.
This festival is one of the best, if not the best festivals in the world. Hands down, the staff and the programmers were all working in lockstep to make this one for the history books.

OZ Band Interview Sweden Rock 2019

OZ, Unleashed an energetic metal assault on the Sweden Rock crowd. Spearheaded by original member , drummer Mark Ruffneck, this band is a classic metal legend.
How do you feel about your longevity?
"  This is the Mach 5 version of this band. When we started it was a cover band and we had a big dream of being rock stars. We only played Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.
We never thought we would make it. Then they said you have to make your own music".

And you recorded the albums where?
"So the albums were recorded in Sweden. We only had fax machines back then, no email. After awhile we had the fax machine going constantly. We have made all albums here in Sweden with different line ups."

After all these years what is the one thing that keeps you going?
"We enjoy what we do. This makes us happy."

Power, precision, passion, all combine, to deliver their music on their own terms. OZ is one band not to miss. One band any true metal fan should have in their collection.

Jared James Nichols Interview@ Sweden Rock Festival 2019

We had a chance to speak with Jared James Nichols and his drummer, Dennis Holm, after their epic show at Sweden rock 2019

How did the show go?
I remember hearing about the festival and someone saying you could play there and I was like in one ear out the other. And then it happens. Its super cool. Funny has fast time goes.

What is the difference between American and European audiences?
With Europe there is more of an artistry to it. In the states your either on top or on bottom. Here its a col community of people that just love music. The first show we ever played was in Belgium. There was a line out the door. It was sold out. And we were like this is different. We've always been embraced by European audiences. Every country is a little different. You just put your head down and go for it. Its pretty cool.

 Any where else?
We will be in Japan with Buck Cherry. We have done so many support slots. It's great to see so many bands and play with bands we love. We will be in Australia. Nothing in this is ever set in stone. It's always evolving.

What is next as an artist?
Put out another record and just stay on the road. I think that is the heartbeat of what we do. We have come this far. We will play in front of as many people as possible. Keep pushing.

Did you pick up the guitar and immediately start without a pick or is it something you changed to later on?
Here's the thing I started as a lefty and eventually I had a teacher who said no play it like this(right handed) He said you have to use a pick and so I followed the rules. And after about five years I was really advancing and I found my picking hand was chasing my fretting hand so I just got rid of the it. So now I'm known for that, known as the no pick guy. I feel more locked in. I just tried to do my own thing. It was cool when I figured it all out. I will feel it at night in my fingers. I was jamming with Steve Vai and I plugged in and he was looking at me like what is up with this guy. After wards he came up and was like oh my God. It was cool.

No effects then?
I just run straight into the amp. I just released a signature amp with blackstar. I can really rely on it. Its my comfort. It is liberating. There is nothing between you and the amp.

Check out this incredibly gifted and down to earth guitarist.
